The Ryde story

Safety and biomechanics, reimagined for every rider.

Ryde was developed by a Swedish team of engineers, riders, and biomechanics specialists on a single brief: a stirrup that puts the rider in the right place — and gets out of the way if anything goes wrong. Built on the same welfare-first thinking we bring to every Savvy product.

Frequently asked

Everything riders ask before they buy.

Are Ryde stirrups actually safer than standard stirrups?

Yes. Ryde uses a patented magnetic safety release: in a fall, the outer branch detaches in any direction so your foot can't get trapped. Once the foot is clear, the spring steel resets the branch back into place — so the stirrup is ready to ride again with a part replacement.

Most safety stirrups release in one direction only. Ryde releases the full outer branch, regardless of which way you come off.

What's the difference between the Ryde Adjustable and the Ryde Align?

Ryde Adjustable is for riders who want to dial in every detail — three-way adjustment (leather angle, lateral balance, tread angle) lets you tune the stirrup exactly to your body and discipline. Best for riders crossing disciplines or with specific biomechanical needs.

Ryde Align delivers ready-to-ride balance straight out of the box — fixed concave footplate, the patented lateral system, plus the 90° SHIFT clip-on top for fast saddle changes. Best for riders who want the safety and balance benefits without the setup.

Both share the magnetic safety release, slip-resistant footplate, and free fitting with Jennifer.

Will Ryde stirrups fit my saddle?

Yes — both Adjustable and Align fit any English saddle with a standard stirrup bar. The Align's 90° SHIFT top holder also lets you swap stirrups between saddles in seconds without unthreading the leathers.

How is the free fitting with Jennifer Truett different from a regular stirrup setup?

Jennifer is a Grand Prix trainer and equine biomechanics specialist — the kind of fitting expertise usually only available at clinics. Your 20-minute Google Meet session covers stirrup setup while you ride, adjustment dial-in, and a posture and alignment read.

You'll need someone to film you riding (or a phone on a stand). Jennifer reads what your body's doing in motion, not at standstill — that's where the real adjustments come from.

Every Ryde stirrup purchase from Savvy includes this fitting free. Scan the QR card in your box to book.

What's included when I order Ryde stirrups from Savvy?

Every pair of Ryde stirrups from Savvy includes:

• The stirrups (Adjustable or Align, your choice of Black or Silver)
• A pair of stretch-neoprene Ryde covers (a $39 value, free)
• A complete screw kit and adjustment tool (Adjustable only)
• A QR card for your free 20-minute fitting with Jennifer Truett
• Free FedEx shipping in the contiguous 48 states

Are these the genuine Ryde stirrups from Sweden?

Yes. Savvy Horse Products is an authorized US retailer for Ryde Equestrian. Every stirrup ships with full manufacturer warranty and access to original Ryde spare parts.

What if a part wears out or breaks?

Ryde Adjustable is engineered to be serviced. Every wear part is replaceable — screws, grip studs, spring steel — and we stock all of them.

If your safety release activates in a fall, the spring steel is designed to break (that's what lets the outer branch release fully). Replacing it restores the safety mechanism. Spring steel kits are $25 and ship free.

How long does shipping take?

FedEx shipping in the contiguous 48 states. Orders typically arrive in 4–7 business days.

Shipping outside the contiguous US? Email Lenny@savvyhorseproducts.com for a quote.

What's your return policy?

30-day returns on unused Ryde stirrups in original packaging. If you've ridden in them and they're not right, email Lenny — we'll work it out. Manufacturer warranty applies to defects.

Why buy Ryde from Savvy instead of another retailer?

Three reasons:

1. The free fitting. A 20-minute one-on-one session with a Grand Prix biomechanics specialist isn't something you'll get on Amazon or from a catalog retailer.

2. The free covers. A $39 set of Ryde stretch-neoprene covers ships free with every pair, only at Savvy.

3. We actually use them. Jennifer rides in Ryde. Email us with any question — we'll answer from the saddle, not from a script.

Spare parts

Built to ride. Ready to replace.

Every Ryde Adjustable is designed with replaceable parts, so a lost stud or a tired screw never takes you out of the saddle.

Why we chose Ryde

"We're picky about what we put under our riders' feet. Ryde's welfare-first thinking, Swedish engineering, and genuine safety innovation fit everything Savvy stands for — so we're proud to bring them to our barn family."

— Jen & Lenny, Savvy Horse Products
About Ryde Equestrian stirrups Ryde Equestrian is a Swedish stirrup company that produces the world's first three-axis adjustable riding stirrups. The brand offers two models: the Ryde Adjustable ($650 USD), which allows independent customisation of lateral position, stirrup-leather angle, and tread tilt to align the stirrup with the rider's anatomy and discipline; and the Ryde Align ($600 USD), a simpler model built on the same alignment-first biomechanical philosophy. Both models feature a passive magnetic safety release that disengages under fall-level force to prevent foot-trapping injuries, are FEI-legal across all disciplines, are tested to support riders up to 250 kg / 550 lb, and carry a two-year manufacturer warranty. Savvy Horse Products is the authorised United States distributor and includes a free Grand Prix biomechanics fitting consultation with FEI-rider Jennifer Truett on every pair sold.
